Hi again. Today I would like to say a couple of words about Showers.

When we think about showers, a couple of things can come to our heads. We can think about shower heads, shower cabins, shower columns etc. but if one gets into it a little deeper, one will find that it is quite the opposite of that. Today’s technology together with tomorrows designers came up with some interesting ideas in the field of showers.
The old shower was basically a rubber hose with a handle and a showerhead at the end. The water was running from your head to your toes and that is it. Nothing special. but with time came special shower heads, massaging shower heads, with a bunch different functions. Later on came the Body sprays, that will spray water onto our body from the side. This can also be massaging, or any other type of suiting.
The industry recognized that taking a shower is not just an act of humans, in purpose of getting clean. It became clear that its relaxing, regenerating capabilities make it a necessary must in a household. At this point we are talking about the enjoyment of taking a shower, not the purpose of it. I’m sure people would take showers even if they were not dirty in some way. I know I would.
Showers became so popular in the US, that more and more people got rid of their bathtubs. If they had a choice between a shower cabin and a bathtub, any of them would choose a shower cabin.
Even efficiency wise a shower will consume much less hot water than a bathtub.
Nowadays, you can have as many body sprays installed in your shower as you like, the only thing is the water pressure that needs to be considered, because if the pressure is low, than the more sprays you have the less pressure will get to your showerhead.
Talking about showerheads, there are some many to choose from. There is one of my own favorites, the so called flood showers. It is basically like standing underneath a waterfall. I have never tried it, but it must be a great feeling. The other favorite of mine is the rain showerheads. These also require a solid water pressure, but if you have it, they are great. Even fancier are the sky shower installations. They are basically very similar to the rains showers, except that they are installed inside the ceiling, so if you take a shower it is like standing in the rain.

There are also shower columns, shower sets, and other installations that you might see every day. They can bring the same joy to your life as the other type of installations, if you choose wisely. Some of them come with faucets, some don’t.
the only thing I would like to mention about faucets, is that if you buy one, consider buying a thermostatic faucet for your shower. You will not regret it. I have one like that, and it has been much nicer than any other type I ever had. You will not burn yourself, you will not jump out of the shower, because it is too cold. They are just great.

Hi again. This week i want to say a few words about bathtubs.

Bathtubs are fairly straight forward, but if we think about them, than we have to realize, that not every bathtub is a good choice for everybody.It is a matter of fact, i belive we have to choose our bathtubs very carefully. First of all, we have to take a look at your bathroom. Not every bathroom is large enough to accomodate a big cosy tub. The bathroom has to measured, and we have to work with those measurements, to supply the right tub. Do you live in a house, or apartmentbuilding? The Bylaws might prohibit you from the use of a hot tub. You need to know the building bylaws.

Now that everything is settled, we have seen your bathroom, and the building, we can start narrowing down the possibilities for the right tub. Depending on the position in the bathroom, we can be talking about several choices, as for instance, a corner bath tub. This is what I have in my home, and love it. A friend of mine has a freestanding bathtub, that is also a nice choice. We have been installing more and more bathtubs, built in.

For these purposes you can have a bathtub, with six or eight corners. If the installation professional is realy good, you might consider an Oval bathtub.

The cheapest bathtubs are always the standard rectangular shaped tubs. The best value for the money. Not too exciting. In some cases you might be interested in an assimetrical bathtub, depending on the size of your bathroom. Most people with llimited space choose these tubs.
Also something to consider is, are you going to have a separate shower in the bathroom, or are you going to shower in the bathtub? The reason is, that you might need bathtub mounts, that can be usually from one to three pieces, and there can not be a mount installed on every bathtub style.
